Climate Reality Leadership CorpsKen and Nola Bezant have just returned from the Climate Reality Leadership Corps Training where they served as mentors to train over 500 new climate leaders from 32 countries.
Held on 25-27 June in Melbourne, Climate Reality Chairman and former U.S. Vice President Al Gore, trained a select group of leaders from across Australia and the Asia-Pacific region. During the training, attendees learned from Al Gore and a group of world-class scientists, strategists, communicators, and technical specialists about the science of climate change and how to connect with people across the region at the most personal level. We heard how we can rapidly reduce our contributions to global emissions at a local and national level to set us on a better course. And we also developed skills to engage those around us and bring about lasting change using storytelling, public speaking, social media networking, and media engagement. At this defining moment on climate change, we need a community of inspiring and connected people to champion lasting solutions. This was the fourth climate leadership training that Ken has attended since 2007 in Melbourne and the second Nola has attended since 2011 in Jakarta, Indonesia. They have returned excited about the future ahead and willing to share their knowledge. For more information see http://climaterealityproject.org/ |
